So during the All-Star break, I had a conversation with my dad about how great the Giants were doing. At that point, they had the best record in baseball despite having a whole bunch of important players on the DL (Pence and Panik) and playing with a minor league infield. So of course I was going on and on about how great they were doing, and their playoff chances and whatnot.
Well, funny story. Since that conversation, the Giants have lost all four games they’ve played.
Moral of the story: don’t jinx your favorite team by saying how great they are.
